Alex is the ABA Bioscience Team’s specialist Research and Development Consultant. He spends his days meticulously drafting and preparing R&D Tax Incentive narratives to ensure that our clients’ activities and supporting information are displayed in line with current legislative requirements to mitigate risk and maintain the highest level of compliance to the program.
Alex comes to us with an interdisciplinary background in both Law (LLB) and Pharmaceutical Science (BPcolTox), which allows him to not only interpret your clinical activities with a scientific understanding but additionally leverage his legal experience to look at things from an out of the box lens.
Alex has previously worked for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service in the Governance and Compliance Team, which gives him an added layer of understanding with regard to regulations in the healthcare system – advantageous experience that gives him an extra edge to assist our clients!
During Alex’s time at university, he spent his final year researching CRISPR technology and the disruptive potential of advancements in genetic technology – an area he has a particular interest in further discovering.
Renee is our Head of R&D and has spent over 11 years as an R&D Tax Specialist. Renee has worked for global Big 4 professional services firms and has successfully partnered with many large clients.
Prior to life as an R&D Tax Specialist, Renee obtained her PhD and had a successful scientific research career in Biotechnology & Bioinformatics. Renee’s blended career experience provides her with a deep insight and understanding of R&D technical concepts to assist companies to identify eligible R&D activities and allows her to bring a strong commercial approach to the R&D claim process.
Renee has led large engagement teams to assist companies (including large multinationals) to access benefits as a result of their R&D initiatives and has worked closely with companies on R&D Tax governance and risk management frameworks. Renee has extensive experience in liaising with regulators in response to the certification of eligible R&D activities, risk reviews and statutory audits.
As part of her role at ABA Bioscience, Renee helps simplify complex reporting and claims processes for clients, allowing them to benefit from their claimable expenditure and ultimately invest more money back into their business. From assessing eligibility requirements and reviewing R&D expenditure to reporting on activities and lodging your application, Renee is your go-to for everything related to the R&D Tax Incentive.

Kate is an exceptional strategic account relationship professional, backed by an impressive track record of over 20 years of client management and administrative experience. Her expertise extends across diverse industries, encompassing small-scale enterprises as well as multinational organisations. With a proven ability to foster and nurture relationships, Kate consistently delivers outstanding results for her clients. Her main focus is to oversee, manage and complete the day-to-day operations required of our Bioscience client portfolio and specialised team. Acting as the conduit between our international clients and our internal and external team of specialists, Kate ensures all governance, compliance and other tasks associated with client business operations are strategically considered and taken care of as a matter of priority.
As a pharmaceutical executive and advisor, and experienced investor, Nicoletta contributes to board performance through analytical and strategic thinking, an innovation mindset, and financial acumen. Her expertise ranges from product development to manufacturing, government relations and commercialization through a career with organisations including Kendle and Mayne Pharma (now Pfizer).
An experienced investor and a graduate of the Wade Institute VC Catalyst Program, Nicoletta routinely participates in capital raisings of listed and start-up companies and supports innovation as an adviser to entrepreneurs in the life sciences and health-tech through Spingboard Enterprises (SBE) and the Aging Decelerator.
Nicoletta is committed to continuing education and has recently completed the Women on Boards WOBSX course, a director-led peer to peer support program to assist women achieve ASX board roles and a mentoring program offered by the Victorian Healthcare Association (VHA).
Kamand is our Bioscience Consultant who assists the day-to-day operations required of our specialised Bioscience clients and team.
Drawing upon her extensive background in law and conveyancing, Kamand ensures all governance, compliance and other tasks associated with client business operations are strategically considered and taken care of – so you can focus on what matters most.

Kim has over 16 years’ experience in the clinical research field and is the founder of SAPRO Consulting Pty Ltd following her career at a leading Clinical Research Organisation (CRO). Kim has worked with a diverse range of clients including emerging biotech companies, competently guiding and managing global and full service Phase I-IV clinical drug and device studies across many different therapeutic areas. Kim has extensive experience and a proven track record for delivering and executing regulatory strategies within budget and on time whilst proactively negating risk and reporting to board members.
Kim is a certified member of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) and of the Project Management institute (PMI). Kim has been an invited speaker to present at the ARCS Annual Conference 2019, Sydney – “Challenges of Conducting Phase I Oncology studies in Non-Phase I Units” and most recently invited as an Expert Panel Presenter at Endpoints News Webinar – “Managing Global Studies with Regional Partners” in October 2020.
Kim is originally from Scotland however has spent over 14 years based in Australia which has been crucial to developing and growing clinical trials across the Asia Pacific region. Kim has strong leadership skills and confident decision-making abilities; she thrives within a fast-paced environment and throws herself into new challenges.
Operations / Finance Assistant
Kurt is ABA Bioscience’s specialist Legal Consultant. With over 7 years of corporate law firm experience, Kurt understands the demands of companies at each stage in their commercialisation lifecycle and is committed to assisting our clients achieve their true potential.
As a qualified legal practitioner, Kurt holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. However, Kurt’s commitment to perpetual learning and development has driven him to undertake a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. Kurt is passionate about the BioScience industry and is particularly focussed on the intersection of emerging technology and associated legal principles.
Kurt is dedicated to delivering a legal service offering that provides companies with an adequate compliance framework and strategies to protect their emerging technology. In Kurt’s previous role, he gained direct corporate law experience working with clients across the Bioscience sector, where he has prepared various corporate documents such as: shareholders’ agreements, management agreements, IP license agreements, and loan agreements, among other things.
Kurt’s extensive corporate legal experience combined with his bourgeoning knowledge of Bioscience and emerging technologies primes him to deliver a truly unique and valuable service offering to ABA’s Bioscience clients.
Gregor Rozenberg has more than 20 years of international financial and business management experience. He has managed companies as a venture capital investor and chief executive of clinical drug and device companies for the past decade.
Prior to that, he successfully commercialised clean-tech and biotech companies in the UK and held academic positions at both Imperial College London and the University of Cambridge, UK. He is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and his Board experience as a Chair, Director and Observer include more than 20 Australian, UK and US-based life science companies.
More recently, Gregor has been an advisor to a US-based healthcare investment bank and therapeutics-focused private equity and institutional hedge banking firms.
Gerry is an experienced company director, audit and risk committee chair/member and senior corporate executive with expertise in financial, strategic, governance, management and resource areas. He is also the owner and director of a consulting, mentoring and coaching company.
Throughout his corporate career, Gerry has been responsible for maintaining and enhancing external corporate relationships with stockbrokers, analysts, financiers and shareholders. He has also been the key executive driving strategic and business planning processes.

Andrew is a trusted director and advisor to multiple companies in the Biotechnology, Bioscience, Medtech, BioPharmaceuticals, Life Sciences and AgTech spaces. Through holding these positions, Andrew has also developed a broad network of directors in similar fields.
Andrews is a specialist in the R&D Tax Incentive department where he aims to deconstruct the process in order for clients to maximise their returns, increase business compliance, mitigate risk and importantly, accelerate commercialisation and profitability.
